The electric vehicle or hybrid models will, I believe, become popular due to the problems with petroleum products which include, but is not limited to high prices and greenhouse gas emissions. The electric vehicle, though it may still tap power from plants using fossil fuels, is an alternative whose time has come. It makes us just a little bit less dependent on petroleum fuels. It's one small step, but certainly not the last.
